You missed a good one!

So after saying that I was sick of being stuck inside due to the weather, I threw a post and an email out to the team, 5 of us showed up and hit the road and the CREEK! We rode up to Pamperin Park and jumped on Duck Creek, what a blast! 1st photo is messing around under the Hwy. 29 bridge, we were checking the conditions before heading up the creek for an awesome ride, yee hah!

Devroy and Warren navigating the river, or just the snow covering the river. The terrain was a sometimes soft and sandy like feeling, tough and a great workout, but still very rideable the entire 3 miles we were on the creek.

Mark is demonstrating the toughtest part of riding the snow cover on the creek, getting started back up, you really wanted to keep your momentum once you had it going. There was no need for studded tires out there, Devroy was without and was able to ride away from the rest of us at any time, I think a wider tire may be the ticket. I will continue to ride my studs but a tire that is wide enough to sort of float over the top would be great, the studs are nice for the ride to and from, a sense of security on the potentially slippery spots along the way.

How much fun was it, enough that we very well may do it again next weekend, stay tuned as the week progresses and I will watch the weather to see if it is a go. Every time I looked at one of the guys they had a huge smile on their face, what a good time it was. Stay warm and stop in the shop and get the training started with a CompuTrainer workout, road races are set to begin in March with the Parkside crits down by Kenosha and the the WCA kicks off in April.

Ride on.
