Race update due to extreme cold!

Viroqua's Frosty Cross rescheduled to February 9

Due to severely cold temps and expected 20-30 below wind chills Frosty Cross has been rescheduled from January 19 to Saturday, February 9. The Parks and Recreation Department did not feel that it would be prudent to hold the race under these weather conditions. Mark your calendars and kick off your biking season in February instead! Almost time boys, whose in!

The date is set, February 2nd, the bikes hit the ice at the Gambler game...whose in? I would love to have at least 6-8 of us riding out there on the ice, Wenzlick has tires, I have two sets and there might still be a set at the shop. Also, we should be able to order them at pro-deal pricing from KENDA, email me if you are interested in a set and I will give the price that way.

We are going to have a tent/booth set up at the game again this year, so of course we will need riders to hang out at the booth and then ride the ice, then head back up to the tent for the next intermission. Along with the riders, need to have people out there tossing things into the crowd, I think 12 riders would be a good number to have that night. Whose in....?

Greetings, a photo off the cell phone camera for you, Mr. Gantz and I hit the Thornberry loop in the fog Sunday afternoon. Visibility was not that great, the roads were OK for the most part, little slippery in a few spots but we managed to get a nice ride in...I think it was around 80 minutes.

We will see what the weather does thru the week, I think it is supposed to go back to normal by the end of the week, if it stays warm perhaps a group ride is in the making? Stay tuned right here for the latest on all things Stadium Bike Cycling Team-ish!

The 3rd Annual Polar Bear Ride, photos and video!

16 brave souls and completely normal team members and friends came out the shop for the 3rd edition of the PB ride. Sunshine and not-so-bad temps made it a fairly comfortable day in the saddle, a little cruise thru downtown GB and over to the Jo to Go for some warm liquids, then a little longer return trip back to the shop. Thanks to all who came out, it was nice to see the number of riders increase again this year, if you missed it...shame on you...it was a (cold)blast!

We have a couple of posts worth of pictures and even a short video clip, so take a look and as the pics come in from the other riders, I will post them as well. Have a good rest of the week and let the season begin! Lots of info coming real soon as things are in the works for the banquet and next season sponsors and clothing, deals and all of that good stuff, so stay tuned and check the blog frequently!

This is life as a Clydesdale, everyone always trying to draft the big fella, if only they knew what I had for dinner last night, ha-ha! Notice the custom plastic wrap helmet cover in Christmas green and of course the camo face wrap, we was stylin'.

Schindel on the road bike, he kept the rubber side down all day, even on the snow and slushy roads...nice work Mark! You can tell by the attire that it was a little cool out there, not cold just cool, comfortable?

Thanks to Randy for opening the shop up before and after the ride, free heat, not that we needed it! Thanks to all that came to the '08 Polar Bear, I appreciate you all making the trip out for the event, if you were not there this year...better show up next year!
