Sheboygan......Shevegas

A great day on a great course, wow, what a day to ride your bike in the woods! A good number of us out there for the last WORS race of the season, nice job to all that raced and stuck around for some good raffle waiting fun.....so none of us won a bike......oh well!

Not too many pictures since I was shooting the Sport race for Gary, found these on MountainGoat's site. Warren leading me down the "pucker factor," our last time down, had a great day racing with Warren.

Mr. Pallex in about the same spot, some where on Pucker, hold on and let it rip. Great season to all, our numbers dipped a little but still a good solid season as usual, great to be out racing with a great bunch of riders like you all. About a dozen of us still have the Iceman on our schedules, but after that we will have a team get together......just get together and shoot the breeze, have a few beers, just hang out with the team.

Next season......about all I really know for sure is that there will be changes, what changes I have yet to solidify? I know it will be good and it will all work out for the "even" better, so I invite you all to sit back and take a rest.....but still ride a little, and wait for the big news :)

Iceman racers, I will throw a training ride schedule together sometime in the next day or two.....the biggest battle to a successful Iceman is staying on the bike and keeping your fitness. Stay tuned.

Ride for the Timbers

A great fall morning greeted a handful of team riders for the 2nd Annual Ride for the Timbers, a ride to benefit the education programs at the Fallen Timbers Environmental Center west of Seymour. I set up the tent and workstand to provide mechanical support for all....I think myself and one other guy pumped up about 50 tires each......at least it felt like that many!

Matt, Paul Westberg, Mike, Bill, and Dennis made the trip out for the ride! Thanks a lot guys for coming out, very much appreciated! As you can see, the fellas "bundled" up for the 8am start, 100k waiting for them!

They're off, Paul working hard going for the holeshot.....new car on the line for this holeshot preem...............ok not!!!

Later fellas, look at that sunshine peeking thru......turned out to be a great day for a ride. Nice course with a few small hills, I think Bill said about 11oo ft. of elevation on the 100k route. When everyone rolled back to the center, chili and ice cream with maple syrup waiting for them.....Mmmm!

A good day for all, thanks again for coming out guys!

Wolf River Rendevous

We had a very good turnout at race #11 of the series.....a nice course that is open to riding anytime, team ride sometime before the snow falls? Great weather and a fast course made for a excellent day of racing! Dennis cranking up that incline on the start loop!

Rich smiling.....he is sneaking up on Dennis.....shhhh! Nice ride Rich!

Warren out in the woods.....ah Warren......you forgot your derailluer! Awesome race, 3rd in age class on the full boing single speed!

Tom looks a little dirty, I know it was dusty.....Tom did you fall down.....nice racing out there!

Now that is a good looking crew, gotta like those racing stripes on the heads! Great showing by the team, we all made it thru the culvert, tunnel, cattle crossing? Really cool to see everyone out there having a blast, one more race and it's close by......see you all there!

Thanks to Heather for all of the pics, excellent work Heather!!!!!!

Team member from the Wausau area, Gregg Bednorski was killed in a very unfortunate cycling accident late last week, he was a racer of all disciplines. A friend and fellow racer of Randy Bailey, and as many have said......just a great guy!

Ride on Gregg.

New Mountain Bike Categories for next year

Just wanted to let you all know that USA Cycling is changing the categories for Mountain Bike Racing beginning next season, they will look more like the road cats. Check out the link to a pdf from USA Cycling and read up, not sure yet how this will effect WORS?

http://www.usacycling.org/forms/mtb/MTB_Categories_KeyPoints.pdf

Great job to all that raced Chequamegon, long or short, cause they are both real races.......yes that was a little dig to all who feel compelled to talk down on the "short and smart!"

Ride on and see you ALL in Shawano, a very short drive north, are you with me?

Rhinelander

Andy on the podium, thinking he likes the color yellow, always seems to come in 4th! Nice job Andy!

Mark on the podium, great ride on the "loaner" frame. Or is it your frame?

Team work, Ryan handing Matt a bottle of the secret super power liquid energy booster! Hurry up Lanser because.......see next photo!

This is why you must hurry Matt.....pea size hail is on the way......never mind it's here already! Lanser got to ride in a 100 mph wind blast that just about blew Andy and I away as we hung on for dear life to the EZ-Up tent.....the wind physically moved us and the tent about 5 feet. Oh the hail, yes Lanser was out in the hail.....nice ride Lanser and all of the Stadium riders that made the trip way up nort'!

Excellent course that flowed real well and had just the right amount of everything, good venue and volunteers (food)....all good and everyone rode very well. The camping along the lake was not bad either :)

Chequamy time!

12 Hours of Stump......and Bill Peters!

That time of the year when a few of us like to ride our bikes for longer periods of time at the Camp.....the Stump Farm 12. The Stadium Bike Team had a handful of riders up there getting after it, while the majority of us did 3 hours, a few did 6 hours, and then Bill went for 12! I talked to Bill early in the week and he was ready and committed to doing the full 12 hours and going for 100 miles? The top picture is Bill after his second lap, big smile and still feeling great!

Fast forward to lap number 11 for Bill, is that a smile or a ............. get me the hell off this bike look! Bill, you were awesome out there, be proud of yourself, 9.1 miles per lap times 11 laps......equals 100 in my book!!!!! Very nice job!

The rest of us: myself, Warren, Mike Giesen, Joel Stewart, Rob Livingston and Dale Crocker....I think that is everyone? Also a big thank you to the Performa crew, Paul and Brandon rode in with Bill on his last lap....that was cool! If you have not been to a lot races this year, the Performa team from Green Bay is a few of the former Bellin riders.......we have a great relationship with them and Saturday was a great example of that.....those two riding in with Bill was what we are all out there for......thanks guys!

Off to Rhinelander next weekend, a great course and venue, hope to see a few more of our team riders out there as the season winds down.....good camping and good pasta.....oh and great trails and race course :)

See you out there!

24-9

Little look into the transition area in the first part of the night laps, we had a handful of team riders out for a 24 hour stroll in the woods!

Lanser, Schindel, and Livingston enjoying a little pasta, Hockers was out on the course at the time....the big fellas rocked the Clydes and brought home the WIN! Nice work men!

The blur of the lights, only at the 24-9, if you have never done this.....you need to try it once....careful though.....you are likely to come back a few more times.

Giesen and myself, along with jersey designer Noah Kellermann made the trip over to spectate for a while and then ride a little. Here we have Giesen about to break into a 3 hour track stand....simply amazing!

Also out there from the team, Joel Hynes went solo for an 8th place finish and Zack Geyer teamed up with Mitch Gantz and a couple of Baraboo Sharks for the Junior National Championship. Andy Edens also brought a posse from the Milwaukee area for 24 hours of fun....hope I did not miss anyone. Great job all and see you all in Kewauskum!

Let's see how many we can get down there, our numbers have been very low for race attendence, kind of dissapointing! So time for you all to get out to the race and show the numbers we have on this team....see you at the Sunburst!

On home turf, the Ramble!

Jeff Gantz on the muddy home stretch, a nice overall finish for Jeff!

Pallex throwing down the old school team clothing...time for an update Mr. Pallex, still looking strong out there!

Sikora looking for a cool breeze, great race for Erin!

Is Wiesner on a little solo effort off the front?

Steve Baumann bringing it home, Steve marked a ton of trail for the race and had a few thrill rides with Dale on the 4-wheeler!
Thanks to NachoBar.com for the photos! Nice job on the race and the work that went into making it happen! The Stadium Team came thru in a big way, thanks and give yourself a pat on the back, could not have happened without your help! Have a good 4th and see you at the races!

Subaru Cup

A few pics from the Short Track portion of the Subaru Cup Stage race, Warren sluggin' it out with the big climb on the course....this bad boy was a bugger to get up with tired legs after two days of racing!
Andy over the top of the climb, nice job to Andy on the Stage Race....one of 3 Stadium riders doing the two day stage race!

Big Clyde over the top, the climb was the perfect place to put a little move on the competition, the Short Track course was nicely laid out, really fun to ride.

Mike Giesen on the right, collecting his first Sport Podium finish since moving up to the Sport class! Mike was likely the strongest Stadium rider out there on Saturday, climbing like a mountain goat, nice ride Mike!

Thanks to all who made the trip down, the course was very grueling and energy zapping, took every ounce of energy to ride. Also of note, Nick Crocker took on the Downhill course and Martini stepped in and volunteered, we rock! Looking forward to seeing you all help out and race the Ramble, always in need of volunteers for the Ramble?

Keep on truckin'

The BIG RING Classic 2008

Martini peeking around the corner looking for the next victim, Jason was one of 15 Sport riders representing the team in Wausau, a great job to all!

Mike Giesen had a great run going until he heard the psssssss.....of his rear tire, he knows he can run top 5 and will get em' at the WORS Cup.

Renee loving every minute of the Sport race....she is our only female rider right now, awesome Renee!
Steve digging deep, looks like the section that just comes off the beloved "wood chips!"

Nick Crocker in about the same spot as Steve, Nick is new to the team this year....glad to have you aboard Nick and the other's will make you feel welcome I am sure. Nice ride!

We had 24 riders at Wausau, a great number and everyone had a decent race for the most part! Conditions were great and the course was in awesome shape, I thought ho-chi-min rode really well and had a decent line all the way thru, a little too much open road racing for my liking but that's what makes the series great....a little bit of everything for all. Again great job to all, the jersey's look good out on the course....they look even better when the shorts get here????

Hope to see everyone down at the WORS Cup, maybe even going for the Stage Race, any thoughts on camping both Friday and Saturday night? Excellent course and venue.....let's hope for dry weather this year!

Again great job to all, a really good showing for the team at Wausau, thanks to John Devroy for the photo's! I don't want to single anyone out, but new team member Joel Hynes from Wausau took 2nd overall in the Comp race! Nice job to Joel and everyone else.

Wausau, camping anyone?

Almost time for the "Big Ring Classic" race in Wausau, in the past we have had a good number of team members camp out at this race, always a good time and the more the merrier! I am bringing the whole Hauser clan with me, so pack up the kids and head to Wausau.

The race.....fast and furious with a little rock garden here and there, not much for climbing but a little more than you think. See you all there.

Nice job to the guys that helped out at the GB Marathon, I think we all had a good time and got some miles in as well. I know our effort was appreciated and hopefully they ask up back for next year!

Now go ride your bike!

New Kits have arrived!

A quick look at the new uni's for this season, not to bad! I am pretty happy with them for the most part......we do have a little issue with the shorts and the color of what is supposed to be red? Tops look great, color is right on.......the bottoms? Seems the red on the bottoms is going for the pink/salmon color scheme, not horrible but not perfect.
Closer look at the shorts and top....this is the point when they are supposed to match and then go there own way, then at the mid-leg.....they fade should go from red to silver diamond plating? Why the pink look, seems to me the diamond plating begins right at the top where it should be solid red? What will happen, I have a message in to Champion Systems to see what they have to say? Stay tuned......

Meanwhile, swing on by the shop and pick yours up Tuesday 5-7pm or all day Wednesday.

Iola, game on!

So the circus rolled into town, Iola that is! A great day of weather and a great day of racing, the course was in fantastic shape, I think the rain actually helped the course firm up!

The Stadium riders were out in good numbers, I will tally up the total later this evening, but a great showing ....especially in the Sport class. We had a least 15 riders in that class alone, and then a few in the others, decent numbers for race #1.

Out kits shipped today, so that means we will be looking good come race #2! The Camp is in great shape so get on the trails or join the WNR, the season is finally here!

Pics and placings coming soon, nice job to those who made the trip to Iola!

Green Bay Marathon Opportunity

We have been asked to ride along with the lead runners of the Cellcom Green Bay Marathon this year, a handful of us will ride along with the first few runners as they cover the 26.2 mile course. It is a WORS weekend but with the gas prices and all I am betting a few of us will be here and more than willing to lend a hand to the Marathon.

Of course it will be nice to see the new look clothing out in front for all of the spectators to see and marvel at...Wow those guys look good in their fancy team kits!!!!

Rides.....races....?

Looks like we will attempt to get the Wednesday Whoopin' underway this week, 600pm from the shop parking lot. Note the 600pm start time, trying to up the attendance by starting it a little later, let's see if the 1/2 hour gives a few more time to get to the shop after work. The weather will give us a cold start to the first ride of the year, so dress warm and be ready to roll!

If this is not a good time then please hit myself or Randy with some ideas to get the attendance up for the Whoopin' ? Need to know what it takes to get that ride established and better attended....so your help is needed!

Sunday we will ride from He-Nis-Ra at 1pm, like to see the group get a solid 2 - 2 1/2 hours in on the bike, hoping for a big turnout....been a while since we have seen a lot of the team riders so it would be great to see everyone out for the ride.

Your thoughts on the Rock Cut race on April 20th? Long drive for a race and with gas prices....should we just stay home and train as a group or do you all think we should hit the road and get some dirt time in? Loading up a few cars and splitting the gas costs would work....anyone interested? Road crit in Madison that day as well?

Email me with thoughts.....

Sunday Team Ride

We had a total of 10 riders on the Sunday training ride, a good group that rode well together and rode smart, we actually got a day of base mile training in with not a lot of off the front flyers! We did the Wrightstown loop so we could benefit from a tailwind ont the return trip, got in just over two hours and somewhere in the range of 40 miles...depending on whether or not you rode to the parking lot.
Heading south on county line road, group did a nice job working together in to the wind, one of our better group rides as far as not killing each other early in the year!

Rolling into Wrightstown and Lanser attempts to cheat the wind, into his areo tuck, we are almost to the "tailwind" part of the day.

As we rolled into DePere we just had to detour for a little Euro spin thru the two lane round-a-bout, so pro!

A good day on the bike, thanks to all who showed up and rode, our own team and the Performa team (Jesse representing). I hope we can ride with Performa from time to time, nothing wrong with the two teams working together and riding together during the season. thanks for passing the ride on Paul and thanks for riding with us Jesse.

Roll call for the ride...Schindel, Devroy, Warren, Borst, Steve B., Paul, Lanser, Livingston, Hauser and Jesse, too bad the rest of you we not able to make it....next time!

Plan on same time and place next week, I will not be there but you all can still roll, I will update the ride later in the week.

Belize Boys

Just want to update you all on a couple of our former team riders, Ryan Baumann and Cole House, both have had early season success in the country of Belize. Early in the year Cole finished 5th on the overall GC for the Tour of Belize, while riding for the USA Jr. Devo team, and now just a few days ago Ryan went down and got a win.

I believe Ryan was racing a one day 254k road race, not sure on the exact name of the race, but he broke away and stayed away....soloing in for the win 6 minutes up on the rest of the field.

Nice job to both guys who have strong ties to our team over the years, way to make us all proud up here in NEW, next time you see Steve....make sure you thank him for giving Ryan the right set of genes!

Like I pick any of the other photos Ryan!

Team Ride #1 (Chilly one)

Schindel getting ready to drop the hammer, or just making sure he is in the photo! A nice group of 11 riders hit the road for the 1st official team ride of 2008, we put in about 2 hours in the somewhat chilly temps.
We rode the Thornberry loop including the Swiss Alps and Little Italy, the group kept the pace up pretty decent and at times the group blew apart and a recovery re-group was needed. My only fear is that some get discouraged and decide the group riding is not for them, I think we should be OK though, we just need to work keeping a more consistent pace and learn to do a better job when in the pacelines (especially in the windy conditions when the line is needed).

I think everyone was pleased with the ride, about 32 miles for myself so it was a nice distance on a rather chilly and deceiving day with the bright but not all that warm sunlight.

Pretty much says it all, great road conditions right now around the area! Nice job to all that showed up, we will not ride next week with easter, so the weekend of the 29th we will resume the team training rides. Stay on the bike and get in shape, so when we hit the road in two weeks we can crank it up a little, right!

Have a good week all, ride on!
